The Fuel Line

Welcome to my blog. My name is Steve Burris. I have spent 50 years in the oil business. I wanted to start a blog to share my experiences over the last 5 decades in hopes to steer you in the right direction concerning fuel in storage. I have worked every job from receiving, storing, packaging, delivering, cleaning, filtering, sampling, analyzing, sales and educating people about petroleum products. I was trained by Exxon to be one of the few branded wholesalers to handle their products. This entailed annual quality inspections to verify product quality of the highest standards. I pioneered the process of cleaning tanks through filtration. I have written several articles on fuel quality, spoken at various trade events and hold several patents concerning petroleum equipment. I will cover various subjects such as fuel quality, floating suction, additives, cleaning procedures, biodiesel, filtration, phase separation, AI, equipment, analysis and many more. I will probably not make many friends in the tank cleaning industry as I will expose the in and outs of what is going during “tank cleaning”. I kind of feel like the guy who is going to reveal all the secrets at a magic show. I will only tackle one subject at a time and try to limit the conversation to keep you engaged.
